In a dreamy mix of cloudy colors, Michael Kors shows clothes designed for both the refined and the reconstructionist.
Detatched seams and hems give sweaters a fallen effect and splatter bleach patterns the suit in a playful way. (These looks are DIY worthy! Cut and bleach your own duds to taste.)
The suit gets a facelift with drawstrings built in. Adjust the sleeves to your liking as the jacket caters to the wearer.
Kors layers on the sheer in the form of weightless sweaters. Pair it with an eternally wrinkled skirt for a look of nonchalance.
With a trick of the eye, clear plastic fabric connects blocks of solids, showing skin on the sly.
The innovation of Michael Kors is what gives him the cred to be deemed "Top American Fashion Designer" weekly by Heidi on the Runway. Because one day he's in, and the next day, he's still in.

The second week in September marks the pinnacle event of the American style scene: New York Fashion Week. With a camera in tow, I battled the press pit for my fifth (and last) season in the tents at Bryant Park – next season it moves to the bigger Lincoln Center. Rubbing elbows (and knees, heads, shoulders...) with the multitude of photographers, all clammoring for runway images, is an exhilirating struggle! I do it all to bring YOU the newest from the fashion greats. OK, it's also an inspirational trip for me to see the shows so close up.
How do I get into the most sought after location in the fashion world? Well, UDress is recognized by Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as an acredited publication, worthy of photo/video credentials that allows media riser access to the pass-holder. After five seasons, I have learned the art of runway photography: half is knowing the correct settings on my camera (white balance, ISO, shutter speed... thanks pros in the pit!), the other half is balancing pushy and polite with the other photogs who may be trying to steal your spot, or stand in front of you and block your shot. The number one asked question on the media riser is, "You're going to sit down once the show starts, aren't you?".
Once the situating on the risers is settled, and the seated guests come pouring in, the plastic protective sheet gets pulled off the runway and the lights dim. Music erupts and models step to the catwalk. An explosion of clicking sounds around me as these looks are captured by every single major media outlet, ready to show the world what the designing elite are presenting this season.
Read on to see what you could be wearing come springtime. |
