Dear UDressers,

As the summer speeds ahead, I encourage you to think about UDress and the upcoming fall issue. I proudly present to you the Fall 2010 theme:

The Movement Issue
fashion in motion

Being in New York City this summer made me realize how quickly the world is moving. The second you catch up, it is ten steps ahead of you. Being a part of this world made me hunger for more--in these few months I have taken salsa classes, interned 60 hrs per week, gone to weekly meditation, shopped at the best thrift stores, eaten the best food and explored every nook of this beautiful city. All because I was moved to do so.

This issue, I want to explore this motion. There are many types of movement underway: social,  career, music, art, political... the movement never stops. With technology, communication, and worldwide collaboration, things are moving ahead faster than ever before.

Rather than being overwhelmed by this movement, I encourage you to use it to your advantage.
Find what makes you move.
Energy feeds energy--let it propel you. If you notice, anything you do with passion succeeds.
There's a meaning behind this. That meaning is movement.

In relation to fashion, I will focus on line, silhouette, and a dark palette that accentuates these features. How has your own closet progressed? Look inside and it will tell a story you didn't even see in the making. You have lived many lives in this one life, so it seems.

Be a part of the movement. Search, discover, explore. Never stop moving.

Cheers,
