Although summer is almost over, there are still a few poolside days left.  There are lots of reports on how bad tanning is (sorry, Snooki), so heed this advice on how to apply sunscreen:

1)      If you're planning on lounging by the pool or romping on the beach, try to apply sunscreen before you put on your suit.  Apply sunscreen to your entire (naked) body, in case your suit should slip or shift, all of your bod will be protected.

2)      If you can't apply sunscreen in the buff, ask a friend to help spray you while you stand like a starfish.  Spray inside your suit at the edges (you can do this yourself).  Places where the suit ends and your skin begins, (like your bust, back, legs, etc.) should get a dash of sunscreen just in case your suit moves while you're prancing about.

3)      Make sure you cover your ears and the tops of your feet.  These are commonly forgotten but hurt a lot if they get burnt!  Ladies, make sure to cover the area where your bra would lie.

4)      Apply liberally and re-apply every one and half to two hours while in the sun, ocean or pool.

5)      Wear a hat, apply hair sunscreen, and wear your fabulous sunnies (ones that you don't mind getting a little cruddy from sunscreen, chlorine and sand).  When you're not in the water, try and cover yourself with a sarong, umbrella or a big tree.

Protect your skin now, and it'll love you later!
