Out with the bad and in with the good. It's that time of year when everyone is shedding their old habits and trading them for New Year's resolutions. Whatever your goal may be this year-to spend more time with your family, lose weight, or be more positive-try to remember three tricks to ensure your success and happiness in 2012.
1. Don't Give Up: Even if you cheat, you don't have to throw away your resolution altogether.
2. Be Forgiving: If you've been working super hard at the gym all January to lose those 10 pounds, treat yourself to a new perfume or a relaxing manicure.
3. Get Support: It's important to share your resolution with your friends and family. You don't need to share the same resolution to both give and get support.
  New Year's resolutions should be about incorporating new habits into your lifestyle and/or preventing old ones from creeping in. So think of it as a long marathon, not a sprint to the finish line!
